RACHEL’S FINAL VIDEO STORY

     Hi, my name is Rachel Wetzel, and this is my FINAL VIDEO STORY.  Since, the semester started way back in January, I was given the assignment of making a blog and submitting it to YOUTUBE and writing about my new updated  video I did, so with that I am going to tell you what I did. First, I had to think of a topic that I found interesting, well, I do love food, I guess it’s that you can meet people and ask them how they are, what they have been up to or what’s new. My favorite food would have to be cheese, it is ultimately the best, I mean don’t get me wrong I feel bad for the people who can’t process dairy but you can take a pill now so cheese can still be on your menu. You can find cheese everywhere, grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, pretty much anyplace. I tried to show that cheese is very diverse and that you can put cheese with so many different types of food: fried, baked, vegetables, sandwiches, chips and queso, and the list goes on and on. Cheese is a American staple that you can make from many different kinds of animals not just cows, sheep, goats, lambs, and I am sure other animals from oversees make delicious cheese also. When I first submitted my video it was only a one minute long and when I submitted my comments about my other group blogs, I went back and read what some of them had said that I needed to improve my video and make it better, so I did. I added music to my video, and I added a title to my video also. I think that with the music I added it will add some creativeness to my project. I really learned a lot about doing a blog, even though this was my first time doing it, it was very challenging with the pandemic going on I must say that, but I does make you grateful for the things that you do have and that is special enough.

Rachel’s Video Draft

     Hello, my name is Rachel Wetzel and this project that I worked on was for my Story on the Web class, I had to make a video about what I liked whether it was food, traveling, hobbies, something I find exciting in my life.

   I picked what I love most is food, although I am quite picky there are many foods I just don’t like, I am not a big fan of cottage cheese, pork, mustard, veal, sauerkraut, ham, and I sure much more. But what I do love is cheese, oh cheese, is my go-to, it is life, I mean how can anyone not like cheese? It is sweet, buttery, smooth, delicate, tasty, and just plain delicious. You might ask why do you like cheese, well the answer is simple, cheese is a stable of America, I mean you can buy it everywhere, grocery stores, in bulk, the gas station, and its cheap. I mean cows, sheep, and other animals make cheese and it is just another food item that you can just really fall in love with, unless you are lactose intolerant, than I feel bad for you, but you can always take a pill before cheese and be good to go.

    Another question is how often I eat cheese, I can probably eat cheese every day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. I will not get tired of it because you can serve it so many different ways, by itself, breaded, fondue, fried, smothered, queso, and on a stick. So finally what can I put cheese on, well that is the most important question, cheeseburgers, mashed potatoes, veggies, sandwiches, by itself, or you can stuff cheese into lots of food items, I mean cheese is the gods gift, it truly is the cows meow 😊

Rachel’s Memory’s

I interviewed 2 people for my 2 questions about myself. I interviewed my mom and my grandma; I first interviewed my mom about “What’s your best memory of me when I was little”. My mom told the story of when I was about 3-4 years old and I was living in Akron, Ohio and my family lived in a duplex, and one day when we ran out of something I decided to go to the next duplex next door, my neighbor Joan was upstairs and heard me rummaging around in her frig, so she comes downstairs and ask me “rachel, what are you doing?” “I am looking for cheese, we don’t have any”. So, Joan laughs and then probably gives me some cheese and then takes me back home to my family, my mom, dad, and my sister. I am sure my mom was wondering where I went. I love cheese to this day; it hasn’t changed since I was a kid.

  The next question I asked was “What was I like growing up?”. I asked my grandma the question. She said that I was fun, an easy kid, and not to difficult. My grandma watched me a lot when I was kid because my parents both worked and since I was her first grandkid, I mean how could my grandma say no? lol. So, these questions are all about me, I hope you like hearing about me!!!

   My Logo I decided to write about was on my life, I love summer!!! Summer is utmost favorite time of year, since I live in Ohio summer seems forever away, there are so many things to do in Ohio in the summer. I work at Kent State University and in the summer I still work, I don’t “have a summer break”, so when summer does come I try to do a lot of things, vacations, time off work, sit on a patio and drink a cold beer, visit family- Wisconsin, Cedar Point, zoos, new food places, ice cream, road trips, and so many other items.

  I used the landscape image to create the backdrop to the beginning of my logo. Next, I used the ellipse image to create the sun and patio table, I then used line segment tool to draw my lines for the sun. I also used the rectangle to draw my legs for my patio table legs. I utilized the type tool and drew the vacations and used the font style to pick the sign and the used color to switch it up besides black, I thought the purple would be a better color. So I tried to find a picture of a beer but that turned out to be a lot of work so next, I applied the font and found a U with a cool looking hyphen that looked like a straw but it tuned out better than I thought. This is my first time ever making a design logo by myself and it doesn’t look to bad, I mean it would be better if it was summer and I could be hanging outside watching a baseball game instead. I am hoping with the next assignment I can add some outrageous color and make it look awesome!!! I read my peers comments about what to do for my final logo and I added lot of color and added a beach chair from the internet. I feel the comments from my peers was very beneficial because of the honesty. I love summer so much, it is my favorite season and i cannot wait for it to come!!!

The pictures for my collage consist of 3 very different pictures of my life.  

The first pictures are a picture of myself, my family and I went to Arizona last July. It was an amazing trip, I went with my sister Megan, my brother in law Jesse, my niece Aubrey, my nephew Cameron, my mom Brenda, and my stepdad Matt.  We took a van to the Grand Canyon; it was an all-day affair. I never realized how big the Canyon was, I thought I knew but I was wrong. When I first got to the Canyon, I could not look over the edge, and I did not look over the edge, it was so scary. Our tour guide we had on our trip was very energetic and took a picture of my next to the fence at the Grand Canyon.

 The next picture is a family picture of my family from the Grand Canyon, I took the picture of my family, it was hot and sticky. We had a wonderful time and I would love to go again. I never realized that you could go to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, either walking, or taking an animal to the bottom.

 The last picture is from when my mom and I went to visit my sister in Wisconsin in August of last year. Megan took me about this my game called footgolf, where you play on a golf course and use a soccer ball to play, you use a golf score and play with a score card. It is so much fun, we all went and of course it was hot and sticky, and we were all sweating. It is a lot harder than it looks, but I would do it again. Next time I visit my sister I plan on playing footgolf and winning, my nephew Cameron ended up winning when I went.
